Is Makeup Sin?

Ladies and gentleguys, just to let you know, I have TONS of ideas for future posts but right now I would like to occupy your time with a question. What would you say if I made the discovery that any kind of makeup is sin? Why does anybody where makeup? Mostly to hide blemishes and enhance good features, right? Let’s try to see this through God’s eyes. God gently whispers and out of nothing you pop into existence. Before you were born God had it all planned out how you would walk, how you would talk, what your personality would be, what your desires would be,… and what your face looks like. After He carefully gives you the perfect hair, skin color, chin, eyes, nose, mouth, ears, and then you go and cover it up! What’s with that? If I was God I would be really upset and would probably come down and make everybody’s faces hideous and have all the makeup of the world disappear into thin air. So now, let’s discuss it. Is makeup evil?

The ugliness is often a symptom of sin, and we use make-up to try to fix it.

someone once said, "if the barn needs paintin, then paint it."

i thought it was funny, but on the other hand, i gotta agree that makeup is way overused. half the time it makes people look worse becuase you can tell they have it on and that is just, well, kinda gross. as for ugliness being a symptom of sin, i'm not sure i concur. there are many (shall i say it?) hot women/men who don't use makeup but do use their bodies for sin. and there beauty is not stripped away from them. however, not all good lookin people are hooker or strippers or immoral people. some of them are very godly people, which only enhances their beauty. yes, i said "enhances". when someone truly is a godly person, they are much easier to like. most times, a person is known more by their personality than their good looks, unless they are being viewed in a purelly sexual way.

and girls, just so you know, most guys prefer you without your makeup, especially if they "like" you. take it from a guy: girls who load up on their makeup are most often made fun of for it, whereas those who don't are usually viewed with...shall we say, a bit of thanks. it is appreciated when a girl doesn't feel she has to look "hot" or whatever for the people she hangs with.

sin is ugly, but the Bible doesn't say that sin always affects physical appearance. man, Joe, you're a thinker! you surprised me with your comment! and i agree with you.

makeup can be a sin although not always. --not that i know so much about makeup. but just like all othere worldly things, it should be used in moderation.

I have mixed thoughts.

My mom used to beg me to wear make-up. Now i try to put a little powder on cuz honestly guys, my face is pretty greasy and you wouldn't like it if i blinded you with my shiny forehead. But I do agree with you about girls that put too much make-up on. It does look too fake and barbie.

ya know, if girls focussed more on being pleasant to be around than what they looked like, guys would like them a lot more.

Okay, Nate...

Yes, God created us perfectly beautiful, and then there was The Fall.

Hence- make-up so that men would continue to consider females beautiful.
